CaptainStacks Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 (edited) Hi, I'm wondering if programs exist that make desktop icon text on Windows 2000 appear similar to how icon text is rendered on Windows XP and above. Here are some screenshots, to help show what I'm talking about:Here are icons on Windows XP, notice how there isn't a colored box around the textHere are icons from Windows 2000, where you can see the blue colored box around the textIs there a program available for Windows 2000 that allows icons to appear as they do in Windows XP? Colonel O'Neill Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 My favourite one is ICONDESK from Bulent Yukruk. It allows transparent icon backgrounds. But it does not enable any form of shadow.I also prefer it over some of the other ones for it's extra features and hotkeys such as invoking the screensaver and hiding some/all windows.I know TClock3 has the ability to make background transparent AND add text shadow, I'm sure WildBill has more details on that.
Tripo Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) There is one with name Transparent42.That do this. But I have found that no one makes it good.if you click on one icon or something you get the backcolor then you need to maximize a window and back to get it transparent again.or run the software again.it is like this for me.Maybe this idesk work better I have not tested it.
