GUI: No need for file/edit/help

Featured Replies

Hi,

I think there is no need for the three above mentioned menues if each only contains one single entry.

why not use symbols for preferences (maybe a gear) and - if you really need it - the link to the webpage (e.g. a globe (maybe with a ring like saturn's) or a house (ptionally in front of a dog-eared page))?

If you want to keep the menues, why not add licence and changelog to the help menu?

I'd perhaps even remove the preferences dialogue and put its options in the main window, the language being a button with a flag and a little triangle as a down-pointing arrow (like the ones next to the browsers' "next"-buttons) next to it opening a sort of pulldown menu...

thx,

I don't disagree with your point, but it was the best approach I could come up with at the time that didn't involve crewing up the rest of the layout. I'll give some thought to improving this for the next release.
