Cornfused Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I'm new to Nlite so I followed the guide from the link on the home page and I get this error message on the first reboot 'A write operation was attempted to a volume after it was dismounted'. I had to burn this to a DVD due to size. Here is a copy of the last session ini:Last_Session.iniThank you
johnhc Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Cornfused, yea, me too! Thanks for the Last Session. It looks like you have updates for IE7 but no IE7 (SP3 does not include IE7 or WMP11). You need to place the MS IE7 installer (found on the DL center) first in the hot fix list, then the updates to it. It also looks like your updates are out of order. You can use an Update Pack (RyanVM) or the hot fix lists there to get the order correct. To see if these things are the root of your problem, please remove all updates and run nLite again (against a fresh source) and see if it will load OK. I also suggest you look into a virtual system, such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server - all free, for your testing (no more coasters). Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
Cornfused Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply johnhc. Hmm so when I use the insert function for the hotfix I need to have the installer first on that list as well as the fixes in a certain order? I incorrectly assumed that order didn't matter. Ah well live and learn. I'll give a try to VirtualPC, VirtualBox or VMware Server also.Thank youSomewhat less cornfused.
