Vlite @ Lenovo - Using Recovery Disks

Recommended Posts

hi,

Failed using Vlite 1.2 to prepare a slipstream DVD for fast re-install of Vista Home Premium for my Lenovo (N200, 0769-B5G) notebook.

Used the 4 SWM files found in the 'Product Recovery' disks, but Vlite 1.2 can't find the installation files ("cannot find the expected files").

I tried to prepare one INSTALL.WIM file out of the 4 SWM files, but failed.

I assume that this is a key reason for the failure in Vlite.

I already looked at several threads in this forum, and found that someone managed to use Vlite with Lenovo Recovery disks, but he didn't proivded details on how it was done.

Here's more details:

  1. There are 8 recovery CDs, and I had copied 4 SWM files to C:\0Nlite\SOURCE directory, and instructed Vlite to look at this directory.
  2. I also copied & renamed the files from CC00AUS to INSTALL.
  3. Also copied TVTOS/WINPE.WIM file that I found in the 'rescue' disk (and changed it to 'install.wim)
  4. Used following command, with no success:

    imagex /ref cc00aus*.swm /check /export cc00aus.swm 2 install.wim "Windows Vista Home Premium"

Here's details of the files:
