celeste Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Hi everyone,Is there a way to cover the wallpaper displayed from the company server with the default (blue background). When I log on to my company computer, (the welcome screen) the background is blue, once I've logged onand the icons appear, the server's wallpaper design is bright and makes it hard to distinguish the icons. Is there a way to keep the blue background up while logged on to the server? Any ideas would be much appreciated.Thank you,Celeste
nitroshift Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Given that your pc is in a domain, the short answer is no. The long answer is no again, because the settings related to your desktop, permissions and rights, etc. are pushed onto your pc by the server through group policy. Have you tried talking to your network administrator about this?
celeste Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Thank you for your reply, to answer your question, yes I did speak to the IT person (we only have one part-time)and he indicated that it could not be done, but apparently I (inadvertently) was able to get my background to go blue while still connected to the server. I just don't know how I did it. Anyway the IT guy was not impresssed and a few days later there was a power surge that caused it to go back to the standard server wallpaper. I was hoping to find out what I did (or what was done). Thanks again,Celeste
