bcdedit question

There are 2 boot entries on my friend's computer. One says previous windows. I think at one time he had an xp and vista dual boot and it seems to have written some boot code to a different drive because I formatted the one he used for windows 7. How do I use bcdedit to remove the legacy os entry so that his system will start without the boot menu coming up for 25 seconds?

You can also make some minor changes in "Startup and Recovery".

It does not allow you to delete an entry but it does allow you to change the timeout and the default OS. Maybe can be set 0 so it boots the OS you want.

However, EasyBCD might be the easiest way with GUI interface. Note that EasyBCD does not support installs on VHD so don't try to mess with those yet.
