ViperBoy Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 If you are being bit by the infinite reboot loop caused by using windows update on a vlited install, make sure you integrate all the Windows hotfixes. I could never figure out which set of vlite options caused the loop, even with a fairly liminted set. However, if I integrated all the hotfixes using a combined set from fox's update pack and those pulled down by apup (autopatcher), then I do not get the loop problemTwo things to note when integrating hotfixes1) For some reason vlite will not integrate hotfixes into a 64bit OS when run on a 32 bit OS. However, this is not a Vista 32 limitation - you can use peimg and imagex from the AIK to integrate just fine. I have a script that I use to do this, though it is slow - takes 30+ minutes to integrate my full set of hotfixes. Let me know if anyone is interested in it2) If you integrate windows search 4.0, windows update will continuously think it needs to be reupdated, but fail every time. Either skip that hotfix during integration or right click on the hotfix in windows update and hide it from future checks
