ps/2 keyboard / touchpad not working

Recommended Posts

hey.

i'm trying to vlite vista sp1 (business/n) but no matter what options i select or don't select the touchpad and keyboard don't work after the installation. usb mouse and keyboard works if i connect them.

it seems to recognize the touchpad as a ps/2 device but in the device manager it says that the device cannot start.

i even tried selecting a single language to remove and still it doesn't work after the install. seems to me like a vlite bug.

the only other reason could be is that i'm using vlite on XP, but there shouldn't be any problems with that, right?

i'm using a universal vista dvd ( all versions included ) with slipstreamed sp1 ( not by myself )

tried both Business and BusinessN

; vLite preset file
;
;#Environment:
; vLite v1.2
; Framework 2.0.50727.3053
; Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 32-bit
;
;#Target:
; Windows Vista BUSINESSN 32-bit Service Pack 1
; Version 6.0.6001.18000 English (United States)

i'm not posting the whole preset since i think it's unneccessary because like i said, no matter if i select anything for removal, ps/2 touchpad / keyboard doesn't work.

dell insipron 6400

core duo t2450 2ghz

2gb ram

intel gma950

anything else needed?

anyone else experienced such trouble?

// ok nevermind.. found a fix

just opened device manager and in the devices with no drivers found selected the one with "LPC" in the description. selected reinstall driver, manual install, show all devices -> showed me PS/2 Keyboard.

installed that, rebooted, all works fine :)
