Troubleshooting Vista32 - XP64 Dualboot

Hello

A friend of mine had a system with a preinstalled Vista32 running for a half year by now. Yesterday he installed a second hdd and set up XP64 on the second drive. Now he has trouble dualconfigurating the vista32 with the xp64. At first only XP64 ran, then - after running the repair-feature (multiple times) from vista setup - he only gets the vista running again.

a: is it possible vista 32 cannot detect a xp64 ?

b: is it possible the physical detachment of both operating systems cause trouble ?

c: a and b?

Thanx for this advice but

1: The dual boot is set up by scratch from nothing on the drive.

2: both OS are placed on 1 HDD, only partitioned.

3: formatting and installing XP First and then Vista is NO option in this case.

I guess you mean specifically the BartPE section. Is this THE ONLY way to fix it ?
