Unhandled Exception has occurred in your application

I had this unhandled exception on Ubuntu running under WINE, so I figured it was a WINE problem.

I then installed in a VM and it didn't work there either.

I noticed that in both placed what was different from my usual usage was the location of the XP installation folder.

For UBUNTU, it was a place-holding Z: drive that points to my root under WINE. For the XP VM, it was a G: drive mapped to a shared folder back on my host machine.

In the VM, I copied the folder to the C: drive, and it worked without a problem.

Just thought someone would like to know if they run into the same thing.

Just an additional note.

I moved the XP install folder to the C: drive of my WINE installation, and it had the same problem... so there is apparently something related, but different under Ubuntu (.Net 2.0 SP1 installed).

May just have to use a VM. I use VirtualBox.
