Windows XP sp 3 boot screen conflicts

Featured Replies

Ok, so here's the problem.

I have two boot screens on my home pc, I'm using Windows XP Home, service pack 3. When I was using SP2 my roommate added a second boot screen to the computer so that when I went to boot the computer up I had a choice between classic and the second one. Now with SP3 installed when I click on the second boot screen I get an auto check error and then the computer goes to a blue screen telling me that the system has been shut down.

All I want to know is how to I go in and remove the old boot screen that he added so that it goes back to just loading the normal boring old XP boot screen? Any help would be great.

All I know is that my computer believes that the other boot screen is a completely different OS.

OK do this:

Right click on my computer and choose properties

Click advanced tab

Click startup and recovery button

Then in the next pane choose edit.

Paste the whole contents of the page that pops up here DO NOT MODIFY ANYTHING YET!

reinstall windows may fix this problem so use hard-format and install one windows at a time sometimes two win make this problem so format with sp3.
