kflynt Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) Hello!Im kinda noob so please forgive any lameness lol I got an HP Compaq 8530p [FU456EA] notebook. (Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset ICH9M-Enhanced)I wanna install Windows XP Professional (32bit).Steps I followed:1. Switch to IDE in bios.2. Integrate AHCI drivers to Windows XP.3. Install Windows XP.4. Switch back to AHCI in bios.I did that like 5-6 times with different versions of the AHCI drivers (Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.7.0.1007 included...)NO luck: Windows XP installed fine. Restart. Switch back to AHCI (step 4). Starting to boot. BLUE SCREEN. Auto Restart. I got dissapointed. And I tried to do the same thing, but without steps 1 & 4.In other words I tried to install Windows XP (with the integrated ahci drivers) while "AHCI" was set in bios instead of IDE..And guess what... IT WORKED! And I did it twice! And doublechecked that bios was set to "AHCI"!Can anyone please explain this? I'm lost...!!!1 Edited February 3, 2009 by kflynt
nitroshift Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 If you already have the drivers integrated in the setup cd, switch to AHCI in BIOS before installing XP.
