XP installed on AHCI! Possible?

Hello!

Im kinda noob so please forgive any lameness lol

I got an HP Compaq 8530p [FU456EA] notebook. (Mobile Intel® PM45 Express Chipset ICH9M-Enhanced)

I wanna install Windows XP Professional (32bit).

Steps I followed:

1. Switch to IDE in bios.

2. Integrate AHCI drivers to Windows XP.

3. Install Windows XP.

4. Switch back to AHCI in bios.

I did that like 5-6 times with different versions of the AHCI drivers (Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.7.0.1007 included...)

NO luck: Windows XP installed fine. Restart. Switch back to AHCI (step 4). Starting to boot. BLUE SCREEN. Auto Restart.

I got dissapointed. And I tried to do the same thing, but without steps 1 & 4.

In other words I tried to install Windows XP (with the integrated ahci drivers) while "AHCI" was set in bios instead of IDE..

And guess what... IT WORKED! And I did it twice! And doublechecked that bios was set to "AHCI"!

Can anyone please explain this? I'm lost...!!!1
