I was wondering, what does the submodel, serialno, OEM1 and OEM2 fields do? I assume one of the fields is for a custom CD Key... if so, which one and can we put any CD Key in or should we use the one from our actual disk? If we can put a custom key in, will that mean Windows is automatically activated and if so, does it mean that when downloading/installing Microsoft products, it will be seen as a "valid" copy of Windows?
PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I assume one of the fields is for a custom CD Key...your confusing OEM branding with licensing. oeminfo.ini only affects the logo on the system properties dialog window and information displayed when you click 'support information' its been a while but i think OEM1&2 are just generic text fields displayed inside the 'support information' window. the SerialNo parameter is so OEMS can stick the manufacturers serial #(ex: Dell Service tag) where the user can find it inside the OS. it doesnt handle any of the actual licensing of windows for that you need to check out the WINNT.SIF file (AKA answer file) for licensing and other setup parameters:Creating a Basic Unattended Setup WINNT.SIF Reference
