Mojo P Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this.I'm trying to create a disc that will do an unattended Vista Ultimate x64 + SP1 install minus a good amount of the other stuff that usually comes packaged with Windows (Probably a similar goal of most of the people on this forum section.) I've installed WAIK so that vLite can run, and I do have a liscensed Vista Ultimate DVD. vLite does the initial DVD > Hard Drive folder copy without a hinge, although when I try and slipstream SP1 (before doing anything else to said folder of files, mind you,) my computer powers off a good 45 minutes into the process. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Windows6.0-KB936330-X64-wave0 is the name of the SP1 installer, if that matters.
Mojo P Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Well I found the problem. There was a wire in the case that was jamming the fan. The workload vLite put on the CPU was enough to overheat it because of this, hence it crashing midway every single time. doh
