removed activation from iso and cd-key will not work

I removed the activation from my iso and now can't use the phone to activate. Microsoft's site allows for reentering a cd-key but I only have the one for years now and I always have to use the phone to activate whenever I upgrade a component etc... How do I activate and please don't anyone tell me to make another disk with the activation not-removed from the iso. I'm trying to avoid doing that.
