bizzybody Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 This update just popped up today on my laptop with Vista Ultimate SP1, customized with nLite.I've installed it four times and each time after Windows Update says it's successfully installed it immediately says it's a "new update" to be installed.Looks like Microsoft needs to issue KB954431 Stops Windows Update from constantly insisting KB954430 needs to be installed.
nitroshift Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 It doesn't happen on my machines, so must be something with the setup of your v-lite install.
MagicAndre1981 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 KB954430 is for MSXML 4, which is not included inside Vista. You only need this update if other tools installed MSXML4
bizzybody Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 I found the page at Microsoft to download the installer for KB954430, installed it and that shut up Windows Update constantly wanting to install it. Another day, another BUG from Microsoft.
MagicAndre1981 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 this is a known bug with msxlm4. This also happened with former updates.
cluberti Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 There's an article about this for XP that may also apply to Vista:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;EN-US;941729
MagicAndre1981 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 thanks cluberti fir the link, I've also searched for this KB article but I didn't found it in my Bookmarks.
