johnhc Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 jonathanfoster, see this and you really should search before you post. Enjoy, John.
jonathanfoster Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 I have read this but what I want to do if possible is to change the files before windows is installed.
johnhc Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 jonathanfoster, if you do it the way the link suggests, then just place the modified ntoskrnl.exe in your $OEM$ with this structure:$OEM$$$System32In other words, place it in the System32 folder and it will be copied to the target system System32 folder. You may also want to place a copy of the renamed ntoskrnl.exe in the folder so will you will have a copy there if you need it. You may need to turn off SFC to keep from getting an error. Give it a try and see what happens. Enjoy, John.
