Nerwin Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Not sure where to put this one. But I have an HP Deskjet 6980 and I have set the web gui password for the printer. The printer works fine, but I can't reset the password! I mean I payed 200 bucks for this printer last year and I can't even use it now, since Its going to be a wireless printer now and I need to get into the web gui to change the wireless settings but I don't the password. I tried everything I know. Anyone have any ideas? is the printer trash now?
RJM Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) From the HP site: You can select the default password a "0000" without quotes , if the issue still persists you can try to reset the printer to factory defaults 1. Verify that the printer is powered on. 2. Press and hold down the Report Page button. 3. While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel button three times. 4. Nerwin Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 I tried all of that.. Nothing works. I tried resting the printer like a 100 times to factor defaults and it doesn't do anything.To me, it likes this almost brand new printer is trash, but works perfectly.
