i was able to delete the restore partition, and the original Vista partition, made one big partition, then chose to install XP on that one...

I am doing the thorough format, not the quick one...

when will i be able to tell if the driver was slipstreamed in and i wont have any install problems?

im at 64% on the format prog bar...

thanks in advance!

You will know it, when the formatting procedure has completed and you are booting off your XP CD with integrated Intel AHCI drivers.

Have you seen the guide how to do it? Here is it.

yeah, i read the guide, it seems to have gone into the nlite disc i made ok...

but i already have a problem...

I have booted 3 times now to the blue screen where setup happens..where i pick the partition i want to install on, then the screen after that u can choose the slow format or the quick format, NTFS, etc...

i chose to leave current file system intact, because i already formatted it, NTFS, but it just keep going back to this screen, even AFTER i pick the 'leave current file system intact (no changes))

it says it's copying files, then goes black for about 3 or 4 minutes, then the blue partition screen comes back...

If you have read the guide, why didn't you post into that special thread?

You should let XP Setup do the NTFS formatting (quick), because Vista has a slightly other NTFS file system than XP.

I am angry right now, as I followed directions to a 'T', and XP installed ok

i was getting weird errors though, like a parser error that would not let me open the add/remove programs console

1 or 2 programs wouldnt work...

so i am now trying to find a way to implement the ICH9M driver, and i can choose it from the USB floppy i am using in windows, but i am still getting a BSOD

just felt like updating...
