Problem with the Drivers folder, Softwares and the Setup Interface

Featured Replies

Hello. :)

I'm quite new to all this stuff (creating unattended Windows) and I have some questions regarding this topic.

1. I have edited the "winntbbu.dll" file in ResEdit (I've replaced the Bitmap files with the ones that I want) but when I test it on VirtualPC (also tried the classic way) it shows the normal Interface, like at a normal Windows.

2. I want to integrate my drivers into Windows. I've read the instructions from "http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/1/" but I am not an English expert, I am a romanian student (High School) and I do not understand all the terms. I've edited the "winnt.sif" file and added "OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\etc..." (to redirect the setup to install the drivers from $OEM$\$1\Drivers\) but I don't know what to do next. I must create a ".inf" file, a ".ini" file in the "Drivers\000_graphics" (for example) or what?

3. And what I must edit, or do, so that the setup also installs some softwares that I have in the "Install" folder?

I must say something about the drivers, some of them are ".exe" and some of them are unpacked.

And how do I add the "verysilentinstall" feature. I've read that some installs require "/s" and that some of them require "/silent" or something like that, but I don't understant which one is for which install.

Please help me!

I just found out about this amazing thing and I would really love to know much more!

Thank you! :)

12. Very often we see meaningless subjects in topic title. They give no clue of what the posts are all about. For example:

- Oh no!

- Help

- I'm mad

- Please help

- Question

- I need your help

- Hmmmm ....

This should be avoided. Users should enter something more specific in topic title so that it is easier for others to help.

A few good examples:

- Strange problem with DirectX9b redist

- RunOnceEx install problem (double installation)

- Change Internet Explorer's Icon back to default

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=18408

ive also moved your thread to the unattended forum since all your questions have to with customizing the install process
