Error message

So I keep getting this error message whenever I try to open msconfig or regedit or even try to launch the vista cd:

"the specefied service does not exist as an installed service"

So I formatted and redid another copy of vlite and deleted less things thinking I had deleted something by accident. But it came up again. I cant run many things its annoying, and I dont feel like formatting every other hour!!

Another problem, I have a sony vaio z555 which has a resolution of 1600x768 (looks incredible) but i cant find any drivers for 64-bit vista so a lot of things are running pretty bad... including my resolution which i can only run at 1028x768 (horrible).
