MagicAndre1981 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 no, the backup folder is the Windows File Protection you know from WinXP. In Vista it is called Windows Resource Protection. You need the whole WinSxS folder, because updates come as deltas. The Trustedinstaller creates the new Vista files with the help of the DPX (Delta Package Extractor) from the files stored inside the WinSxS folder.
