mattjaf Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) ok my pc got a virus either in a hidden partition on the hard drive and possible in the bios, I think. So, When i tried to boot it would take me into a black screen with just my cursor. I got my XP disk and popped it in and it said hard drive not detected;after which i got my Linux CD and it wouldn't load after installation. At this point i was annoyed so i burned DBAN to a disk and nuked the HDD and cleared CMOS. After this on xp it still said HDD not detected, so i just installed linux.I then tried finding my WMP300n driver for linux and found out they don't have any.I also read there are multiple ways to install it tho, but they were a bit complex and seemed like a pain in the a**. I noticed how big of a noob I was with Linux so I tried to install xp and it said HDD not detected.OS:XP pro sp1ubbuntuSATA raptorI had XP sp2 on before, but my father lost my disk.I'm guessing that it is because sp1 doesn't have the drivers on the disk and i need to slip stream the disk. That is just my logical guess. So I made a slipstreamed disk with sp3 and and put the drivers on but idk if i did it right, because it didn't pick up my hdd still.here are the drivers.# SIIG Serial ATA Controller Card Driver# WD Serial ATA RAID Controller Card Driverfound here:http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=601〈=enThe SIIG is a .ZIP which breaks down to:readmesi3112si3112.iniSI3112si3112.mpdsiisupp.vxdsilsuppsilsupp.dllsiwinacctxtsetup.oemandThe RAID Controller is a .ZIP which breaks down to:win2000(folder)winxp(folder)Wnet(folder)Fasttx2kreadmetxtsetup.oemI use the newest version of Nlite. before I clicked "single driver" and clicked the ini in the folder and it said which os do you use and i selected winxp.then created the .ISO and burned it to a disk. johnhc Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 mattjaf, I suspect you need both drivers. Are you defining a RAID? You should also point nLite to an .inf file not .ini. Another guy has been having text mode driver problems. See here. The .oem file is not in the same folder as the .inf file. It looks like you have the same problem. You might try moving the .OEM into the Winxp folder and pointing nLite to the .inf in there. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, start with a fresh copy of your files/folder, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
mattjaf Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 oops i meant inf, but i moved the oem file in to that folder and it still didnt detected my HDD. So, i tryed a legit version of SP2 retail and it still didn't detect my HDD. I don't even know at this point.
johnhc Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 mattjaf, I ran some experiments with nLite and it copies the .OEM file into the folder when you just select the .inf. In fact, it copies it into all the folders. I assume your BIOS is set to enable your HDD? Are you running a RAID? if so, have you configured it? I am really out of suggestions since I can't test due to lack of hardware. Good luck, John.
