DNS Client service is missing!

As title, the DNS Client service is missing in the services.msc on Vista, i need a clue how can i add it back into the services list. That service is crucial for me to run certain apps.

EDIT: I tried copy the 'dnscache' registry from other computer, it finnally listed on the Service.msc but the info were mismatch.

I have always disabled that service as redundant.

So I'd be curious as to what apps you need it for.

Is this a stock Vista install, or has it been modified in any way prior to install?
