paullyboy
Windows XP Home:Every time I put in a CD disk or open an external drive, this miserable, annoying menu comes up that offers options like:Preview picturesView a slide showCopy picturesPlayOpen foldersDownloadTake no actionI just want to click into the disc or drive via desktop icon, and not be bothered with this box everytime. Is there a setting where I can simply turn it off? Thanks.Best, Paul
iamtheky
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/dis...and-usb-drives/or right click on the source drive-->properties, go to the autoplay tab, and select what you want to do for detected file types. paullyboy
Thanks iamtheKy. I tried the Device Mgr. before with no luck. I just went thru it again, and used the 'apply' tab. Works fine now. Thanks again for the input.Best, Paul
infiniti25
In vista you can also disable the Shell Hardware Detection service and this prevents autorun and the windows autorun menu you describe, I believe it will do the same in XP.
