November 20, 200817 yr hey all ... newb here to this forum. I was lead here by a post talking about editing 1.xml for the descriptions, etc.I want to edit this file, and I think rename the windows folder in the install.wim file to change the install root that vista installs to.why? well, i just want to change where Vista installs to so it does not install to c:\windows. the xml file has a variable in it, so i thought using 7zip i extracted the files, edited that file, renamed the Windows folder included.I then used gimagex to make a new install.wim file.all looked good.. UNTIL i tried to use vlite to open the image to make a new .iso file to burn a new DVD to test if i was sucessful.Tell me. is my goal obtainable? Did i do something horrible wrong.. did i miss a step?
