The file 'asms" on WindowsXP Pro Service Pack 3 CD is needed"

Copy files from: GlobalRoot\Device\Cdrom0\i386

This happens after format, copy files and first reboot. I've read many other topics about this, however, I've narrowed my particular issue down. I dumped to the command prompt, F10 and discovered that the CDROM doesn't even exist. So somewhere along the way, I botched up loading the right drivers. Also I noticed the USB mouse wasn't functioning so those drivers weren't loaded either. The question is, I created another disc prior that works fine and I wanted to change some more things. I started completely fresh, it wasn't a previous job. What setting could have I deleted or modified that caused these drivers not to load? I am booting from a USB CDROM drive so could USB drivers be the culprit?

Thx

EEEuserxp,

Your LastSession.ini indicates you are running nLite under Windows 2000 to create your XP ISO. I am not sure this will work and suggest you should investigate. Was your prior disk (that works) created under Win 2000?

Enjoy, John.

I'll emphasis that I created a successful ISO earlier (Using windows 2000), however, I wanted to add back 1 thing I deleted before. I deleted the files modified by nLite, replaced them from source and loaded the INI file on the CD I burned, then went to uncheck a few things in components and the burned disc failed (asms error).

I also tried it again completely from scratch and did it all manually with the same results. I'm almost certain it's some USB driver that's not loading, because no USB devices are recognized after the first reboot. (Mice, keyboards, thumb drives, CDROM). I'm baffled as to why though :/

EEEuserxp,

If by "from scratch" you mean you started from fresh CD files/folders, then I can't think of much. I do notice you have included several USB drivers. Are any of these text mode drivers? Do you feel comfortable that these are the right drivers? Why so many drivers overall? Can you try it under XP?

Enjoy, John.
