Outlook 2007 Email body content won't display

The content of all email messages in Outlook 2007 (plain text messages as well as HTML) will not display in either the preview window or in viewing an individual message in its own window.

It is as if the preview window and the body portion of the window do not exist. The message header and the frame of the window display normally, but the body portion is missing. Where the body should be, the screen displays the content of the window underneath.

The emails are all intact. I can forward messages to my Hotmail account and all the content shows up. It is some kind of a display issue.

I have unstalled and reinstalled Office, which makes no difference. I have run the Office Diagnostics, again no difference.

There is no problem with the .pst file. I transferred it to another computer and all the data displays fine.

The closest thing I can find to the problem I'm encountering - a post on msfn with a reference to a discussion string on officetweaks - both links appear below. In these cases the problem was related to the "Certify Mail" setting in AVG anti-virus software.

I am running McAffee Total Protection Suite and have not been able to find an equivalent setting as mentioned in the AVG example. I also stopped running McAfee Services, but did not solve the problem.

The problem started in mid-October when Windows shut down my computer for an automatic update while Outlook was running.

Any suggestions?

The problem is now fixed.

It ended up being a McAfee Spam Killer problem. I had to uninstall and then reinstall McAfee.
