Hey everyone,

Ever since this W2K3 server was built, my colleagues and I have been able to have three remote RDP sessions active (the two normal ones plus the /console one). Now, for some reason, when two users are logged on and a third tries to connect with or without the /console switch, the RDP client gives the following error:

This computer can't connect to the remote computer.

Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator.

Any ideas? The server's online and working fine apart from this.

if you're using 6.x of the mstsc binary, try the /admin switch instead.

/admin switch doesn't work either. Just gives that error when two people are logged on, whether or not I use the switches.

Seems I've been solving my own problem within a matter of days... Anyone looking to solve this problem should change the following registry key accordingly:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\MaxInstanceCount should be set to "ffffffff" and not "2" or anything else.
