Leeoniya
I'm trying to figure out how to get a system only containing HyperV + basic GUI/management.Hyper-V Server 2008 won't do it, because it lacks any form of GUI.and the full 2008 Server Enterprise will do it at the cost of 550MB of RAM off the top.i'm looking for something that can load Hyper-V into minimal amount of RAM and run a multitude of guest OS's.for now all i can think of is stripping down the Server 2008 Ent. and disabling as many non-essential services as i can think of.any suggestions welcome, thanks,Leon
Br4tt3
Hi,I am almost sure that the suggested way is the only thing that you will be able to acchieve. It will not possible for example to run the hypervisor below an WinPE instance for example or something like that... The only logic thing that comes to mind are dumping excessive binaries, hacking and modding the OS so that it does NOT make usage of diffrent native components...The easiest thing to solve it trough is of course running Windows 2008 Core edition that will do the trick for u... cluberti
Why not run Hyper-V Server 2008 and use a different machine (like a Vista SP1 or another Server 2008 box) to do the management? Or is it that you want this server entirely self-contained?
