The QuickTime Alternative iTunes add-on allows you to use QuickTime Alternative or QT Lite together with iTunes 8. Without this add-on iTunes will give an error about missing components.

That is not the same. This a iTunes add-on so that QTlite works with Itunes

if you are going to request qt for itunes, why not just request an itunes addon? you will still need itunes afterwards and quicktime already comes with it
