mldge
I have a Toshiba Equim L10-L300 model. It had factory WinXp pre-installed. The problem is (I see its a common one ) that I couldnt find the Toshiba recovery disc. I had a copy of WinXP Home SP2 32bit I chose to Install it forgetting that I would need SATA/AHCI drivers. So after Install, the laptop is coming up with the usual Operating System Not FoundI forgot that it would do this cuz i was so used to the IDE drives. Because I have no floppy drive or usb floppy I need to integrate sata drivers into Winxp via Nlite. I know how to do it using Nlite, But if you read below you will see my problems....The Problems are as folllows......What exact drivers do I need.?How do I know what driver to select? Is it a Motherboard-hdd problem, hence the need for SATA/AHCI drivers? How do I identify the Motherboard?I read somewhere that it was something to do with storage devices??? Any thoughts on that... Edited September 12, 2008 by mldge
Slinkie
Sounds like you need to hit F-6 shortly after the XP install CD starts and loadSATA drivers from floppy disk. You might try Toshiba's web site to get them.My Toshiba notebook uses ICH8M-E/M drivers. Doesn't mean your model does, however.I did a Google search and found this site for all except the SATA drivers:http://driverscollection.com/?H=Equium%20L10&By=ToshibaThere is nothing wrong with your computer, just that you have tohave the SATA 'mini-drivers' for the XP installation to be able to see the SATA drive. My Toshiba doesn't have a built in floppy drive so I use an external USB drive to loadthe mini-driver. Hope tis helps and answers your question // SlinkieI have a Toshiba Equim L10-L300 model. It had factory WinXp pre-installed.
