Change the default drive when installing windows

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am getting ready to setup a new Citrix farm and I have to do drive remap after windows loads, and in the past this proofed to be problematic and causes unpredictable issues.

So now I have unattended setup of windows, and I am trying to have windows installed on the M drive rather than having to do drive remap after word.

if you can tell me the way to do this and add it to my unattended setup that's great, and if only can tell me how to do it the manual way only; that's great too.

I appreciate all comments

no way

windows xp always sets the partition it installs on as "C"

and you cant change that later, disk manager wont let u change the drive letter for the system drive

maybe u could change the letter in the registry but i think that would screw up things

edit: i tried changing the letter on a virtual machine, now the boot process stops before getting to the logon screen, just windows logo forever
