Hi all.

I have a problem with my gigabit lan connections.

I have an unmanaged gigabit switch (unmanaged) that connects my computer (yes gigabit NIC) and a NAS (also gigabit supported) to the college network. I am having troubles to get the speeds i would expect from my PC to the NAS. Pushing files from PC to NASis only getting 3 or 4 MB/s whilst pulling files from NAS to PC is geting speeds of up to 30MB/s. Why would there be such a dramastic difference in speeds.

I have done about three days of searching and trying little tricks suggested over the internet, but am starting to get frustrated.

My Setup

Windows Vista PC

3.2Ghz Single Core

1.5Gb RAM

SATA Hardrive

NAS

Synology DS 207+

Switch

D-Link DGS-1005D (unmanaged)

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers
