HSDPA USB modem on EEE

Recommended Posts

Hey.

I recently installed a copy of nlite xp modified for Asus EEE 701, and it did not include any modem drivers. So basicly the problem is - the HSDPA modem automaticly installs it self as a modem, but then it can't be found in the device manager.

When i click the 3G connection properties - I get the message : Modem Removed - Unavailable device.

What should i do, beacuse i really want to use HSDPA.

ps: I already tried copying INF files from inf folder on PC with regular XP installation, and it didn't work.

Please someone, help me, it's really annoying to reinstall XP, if you don't have a CD drive

Thank you, msq

I have the same problem

I followed this guide: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:nlitexp

Tried to tether a blackberry to Eee 1000 XPsp3, but there is no control panel for Phone & Modem options.

Well guess what. I was an id***.

I FAILED to notice the Hardware support section warning:

"Modem Support: Don't remove it if you want 3G wireless."

Doh!

Hope this helps someone
