National Geographic and Britannica problem

We are having problems running National Geographic and Britannica software as any other user apart from the Administrator. The machines are running Windows XP SP2. Both programs install and run well using the administrator's account. When logged in as any other user National Geographic is said to be already running and Britannica reports the following error;

java.lang.NullPointerException

How can these problems be fixed? Thank u in advance for your help.
