I Installed ImDisk on Vista Ultimate SP1, but can't mount because the driver won't load. How can I make it load?

32bit or 64bit?

You must run this program as administrator: Right click the exe file, and select "Run as Administrator".

32 bit, and I already installed it, but when I right click to mount it doesn't work. It's A shell extension, and a CPL, The Installer is a .exe.

The easiest solution would probably be for you to turn off UAC, User Account Control. As an alternative you could set the ImDisk driver to auto-load at system startup.

Turn off UAC: http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2006/09/20/763275.aspx

-- or --

Set the ImDisk driver to auto-load at Command Prompt: sc config imdisk start= auto

or set the ImDisk driver to auto-load using GUI: Open Device Manager, View -> Show hidden devices. Under "Non-plug-and-play devices" right-click ImDisk Virtual Disk Driver and select properties. On the "Driver" tab, change start type to Automatic.

Using either solution it would work after next reboot.

I got it to work a long time ago by running the control panel applet as admin, this loaded the driver, allowing ImDisk to work perfectly.
