Flux101 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) HiAwesome program, by the way - I'm installing on my Acer Aspire One... tried nLited XP first, worked well, but vLited Vista bizarrely works better (and easier to install from USB).... My problem is that I can't connect to the internet. In drivers, I removed ethernet because I was going to install my own... then found there aren't any drivers for it to download, but the WIFI didn't work either after installing drivers, so I guess it wasn't the problem? It just won't search for connections, it instantly says it can't find any networks to connect to without even trying. I've searched the forums, but nobody seems to have had the same issues.I read that UAC may have stopped it from working, so I tried it again and leaving UAC unchecked and enabled, but still have the same problem. Thanks in advance. Here's my last session.ini - I guess I removed too much, but not sure what to put back in:; vLite preset file;;#Environment:; vLite v1.2 RC; Framework 2.0.50727.1434; Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 64-bit;;#Target:; Windows Vista BUSINESS 32-bit ; Version 6.0.6000.16386 English (United States);[Compatibility]Aero GlassFile and printer sharing (Server)[CustomHide][Components];# Accessories #AccessibilityGames-Game ExplorerGames-Inbox GamesGames-Premium Inbox GamesMobility CenterSnipping ToolSpeech SupportWelcome CenterWindows Sidebar and GadgetsWordpad;# Drivers #Display adapters-AtiDisplay adapters-IntelDisplay adapters-NVIDIADisplay adapters-S3Display adapters-SiSDiva ServerEthernet network adaptersModemsPrinters-ApolloPrinters-BrotherPrinters-CanonPrinters-CitizenPrinters-DellPrinters-DiconixPrinters-EpsonPrinters-Fuji XeroxPrinters-FujitsuPrinters-Generic printerPrinters-GestetnerPrinters-HPPrinters-IBMPrinters-InfotecPrinters-KonicaPrinters-Konica MinoltaPrinters-Kyocera MitaPrinters-LanierPrinters-LexmarkPrinters-MinoltaPrinters-Minolta-QMSPrinters-NECPrinters-NRGPrinters-OcePrinters-OkiPrinters-OkidataPrinters-OlivettiPrinters-PanasonicPrinters-QMSPrinters-RicohPrinters-SamsungPrinters-SavinPrinters-SeikoshaPrinters-SharpPrinters-SonyPrinters-StarPrinters-TallyPrinters-TektronixPrinters-Wipro ePeripheralsPrinters-XeroxQLogic Fibre Channel AdapterScannersSound controllersStorage controllers-AdaptecStorage controllers-ElxstorStorage controllers-Hewlett-PackardStorage controllers-IBM ServeRAIDStorage controllers-ICP vortexStorage controllers-Intel (Matrix)Storage controllers-ITEStorage controllers-LSI LogicStorage controllers-MegaRAIDStorage controllers-nVidiaStorage controllers-PromiseStorage controllers-SiSStorage controllers-ULiStorage controllers-ViaTV Tuners-ADS TechnologiesTV Tuners-ASUSTeK Computer Inc.TV Tuners-AVerMedia Technologies, Inc.TV Tuners-Compro Technology Inc.TV Tuners-Conexant Systems, Inc.TV Tuners-CreatixTV Tuners-HauppaugeTV Tuners-KNC ONE GmbHTV Tuners-KWorldTV Tuners-Lumanate, Inc.TV Tuners-Philips SemiconductorsTV Tuners-Pinnacle SystemsTV Tuners-TerraTec Electronic GmbHTV Tuners-VidzMedia Pte Ltd.TV Tuners-ViXS Systems Inc.;# Hardware Support #Dynamic Volume ManagerFax SupportFirewire (1394)Floppy Disk SupportInfrared SupportInternet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI)Microsoft Multi-Path BusModem SupportSmartcardsTV Tuner supportWindows HotStartWindows Image AcquisitionWindows Mobile Device CenterWindows Portable Devices;# Languages #ArabicBrazillianBulgarianCroatianCzechDanishDutchEstonianFinnishFrenchGermanGreekHebrewHungarianItalianJapaneseKoreanLatvianLithuanianNorwegianPolishPortugueseRomanianRussianSerbianSimplified ChineseSlovakSlovenianSpanishSwedishTable Driven Text Input ProcessorThaiTraditional ChineseTurkishUkrainian;# Multimedia #Intel IndeoMovie and DVD MakerMusic and Video samplesSample PicturesScreensaversSideShowWindows Calendar;# Network #Connect to a Network ProjectorDistributed File System (DFS)Internet Information Services (IIS)MSN InstallerRIP ListenerSimple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)Simple TCPIP servicesTelnet ClientTelnet ServerTFTP ClientWindows CollaborationWindows Mail;# Services #Application ExperienceDiagnosticsDistributed Link Tracking ClientDistributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC)Error ReportingInteractive Services DetectionMicrosoft DFS ReplicationOffline FilesProtected StorageQuality Windows Audio Video ExperienceSuperFetchTPM Base ServicesWebDAV (WebClient)Windows Remote ManagementWindows SearchWindows Time;# System #16-bit SupportBeepCrash Dump SupportDigital LockerDisk QuotaGuided HelpHelpIMAPIv2 Burning SupportJet Database EngineMalicious Software Removal ToolManual Install (Setup.exe)MDACMicrosoft AgentMicrosoft Message Queue (MSMQ)Natural LanguagePerformance CountersReliability and Performance MonitorRemote Differential CompressionRemovable Storage ManagementSync CenterSystem RestoreTablet PCWindows BackupWindows Easy TransferWindows SAT (Performance Index)Zip Folder[Options]DEP (Data Execution Prevention) = DefaultUser Account Control (UAC) = EnabledAntiSpyware Realtime Protection = DisabledMemory requirement = DefaultAutoPlay = DisabledPaging Executive = DisabledPower scheme = Power savingPower button = DefaultSleep button = DefaultHibernation = OffControl Panel - Classic View = EnabledShow hidden files and folders = YesShow protected operating system files = NoShow extensions for known file types = YesIE Phishing Filter = DefaultIE Phishing Verification Ballon Tips = Default[services][Protection][Drivers][unattended]SpecRegionalAcceptEULASkipAutoActivationNetworkLoc = 1[Hotfixes][LanguagePacks] Edited August 30, 2008 by Flux101
Flux101 Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) OK, it all seemed to be a driver issue - I added almost everything back in except for languages and things that were 100% never going to be used, made it run slow as hell (good old bloated Vista, eh?), but also had same problem, even through ethernet, which I told to keep the ethernet drivers.Ended up using ethernet drivers for a HP laptop, which worked, and then I could get proper drivers by updating through device manager, in particular the WLAN drivers, which from the Acer site don't appear work on Vista (for me anyway). Now I'm going to try slipstreaming SP1 and then putting this slipstreamed iso back through vLite (that's the right thing to do, right?), and see where that gets me. Last time I tried this though, when it restarted during installation, it moved back to copying files and just stuck there, rather than going to completing installation as it should have done, any ideas what went wrong there?
