August 25, 200818 yr I'm trying to build a very small form factor computer (tiny HTPC to be precise), and one of the parts that still has me stumped is the optical drive. While a standard optical drive would fit inside the case I'm looking at, it would take up about half the volume, cutting off airflow and whatnot.Does anyone know of any slim optical drives that use standard connectors, or where I can get adaptors for laptop drives to run off SATA connectors?
August 25, 200818 yr i just looked at my favourite electronics reseller.they have a adapter from slim-ide to sata.http://www.reichelt.de/?;ARTICLE=79774no idea about the vendor though. just letting you know the thing exists.edit:seems i found it, its called "PA-CDST" and made by Ably-Tech.http://www.ably.com.tw/pdt/viewpdt.asp?abs...t=CHASSIS_PARTS Edited August 25, 200818 yr by bj-kaiser
