Firewire / USB Boot, Vista 64 Ultimate

Hey all, this is my first post here :)

So i have this dilemma, i need to create a vista installation that can be booted from one of the three options: firewire 800/400 or USB. (preferably the firewire since its faster)

In my research, I've come to the conclusion that i need to slipstream some stuff to enable vista to be booted from firewire, and i was curious if anyone could help me out or point me into the right direction. I am hoping that vLite is my solution, or an added bridge to the solution I'm looking for.

My current setup deals with a terabyte hardrive from WD that has usb/firewire/sata connections, and i need to be able to take my drive to school so i can work on my final project on the mac computers.

I've already installed vista on the macs at school, got in big trouble too lol, so i know vista works on them. The mac computers also allow for booting off the firewire, i just run into a problem where it says "please insert boot disk" when i try to boot of my external drive.

I installed vista on my external via the sata connection with a cable that goes from SATA to ESATA, and i connected that directly to my motherboard.

If anyone has any info, or can point me into the right direction it would be a big help !!

My past 3 days of doing research/trying has ended up no where.

I also have yet to open vLite yet to try anything (currently installing WAIK), maybe there is already a solution inside of vLite and this post is all just in vein :)

Thanks again if anyone can help.
