Latest XP Update Corrupts Hyperlinks

A few days ago, I installed the latest batch of Microsoft's updates on my XP Pro system. Immediately afterwards, I discovered that clicking a hyperlink in an e-mail message caused Outlook to stop responding. Subsequently, I found that clicking a hyperlink in any application (other than IE and FireFox) causes the application to freeze. Ideally, does anyone know how to fix this? Next best solution would be to identify which update messed things up so I can uninstall it.
