cant install nLite'd cd on laptop with raid

Ok, i have a laptop that has raid on it running on nforce 4 chipset. It was running fine until the day i decided to do a clean install of winxp on it. I tried to install it just the way i do it with other non-raid computers..... boot from a regular winxp sp2 cd.

In the installation screen, i deleted the partition and created a new one. Formatted it in ntfs, windows starts to copy files, then the laptop suddenly shuts down. I rebooted the computer and returned to the windows installation. While i was in the process of formatting the disk, it shuts down again.

Thinking that the problem might be the driver of the raid not installed before the installation start, i searched the internet for the solution. I found Fernando's thread (Integration of NVIDIA nForce Raid (and SATA) drivers, Guide and help for XP and W2k3 (32/64bit)). I followed the steps, i think i did, and tried the nLite'd winxp with nvidia raid drivers on the laptop.

Unfortunately, same problem persists. The computer keeps shutting down during the "select partition where windows should be installed" part and/or during the formatting process. I verified the versions of the raid bios, drivers, and nLite. All met the requirement.

Btw, here are the steps I did in the process of creating the nLite'd winxp bootable cd with the nvidia raid drivers on it.

- Downloaded the... 32bit nForce SATARAID drivers v.6.99 WHQL.... and.... 32bit nForce SATA_IDE drivers v.6.99 WHQL.

- Copied the entire WINXP SP2 cd in a folder

- Extracted the sataraid drivers to winxp folder

- Processed everything with nLite - Integrate Drivers (nvraid.inf from the sataraid folder); Make Bootable disc

- Created an ISO

- Burned the ISO with Nero 7 at 24x and verified the disc

Am i doing something wrong here?

The computer is an Alienware M9700.
