Deal between MSI, ATI falls through at last moment

SOURCES CLOSE to MSI tell the INQUIRER it was – as Fuad Abazovic revealed earlier this week – about to play the old let's produce ATI cards as well as Nvidia cards game.

But frantic negotiations between both Taiwanese CEOs have saved the MSI bacon at the last moment, we understand, and the deal set to start in mid-January is no more.

As far as we understand, no financial incentive is involved.

The CEOs of MSI and Nvidia delicately talked to each other and the distributors waited for bated breath for the decision.

Still, the fact it got so far is quite interesting, we think.

Is there much money in graphics processors any more, now Intel's GFX3 will be on the cards in May?

No doubt ATI's CEO is spitting blood as we write...
