I don't know if this is the right forum for this question but it does somewhat have to deal with networks. Here is the question, I need to know if there would be a problem if I used Cat 3 (4pair twisted) wire to connect to a network which would be connected to WAP(wireless access point). I was trying to run cat5E wire for the WAP's as I have been doing but I could not get the wire to where I needed them due to full wire chase between floors, so the only option I have is the cat3 cables that are not being used anymore. I tested it out on the cat3 cable it gives the WAP power, however the companies network at this location was down so I don't know if the WAP's actually working right or not.
