Hi,

first of all, hello there and thank you for the great nLite software.

I have integrated SP3 into XP pro system, everything seems to be superb, only one think is not clear now.

You now, the menu start has two "modes", classic (win98) and new (xp) with two columns. I'm using the second one, and have problem with the left column. This column can be used for browser and email; and; frequently used programs or my own programs shortcuts. I have set the frequently programs to "0", and I am using this column only for my own shorcuts, which works perfectly on my SP2 desktop without nLite.

Now, I did SP3 on my Lenovo laptop, and I cannot put any shorcut into this column. It can be used for favourite programs by setting more than "0" in the settings, but I cannot drag'n'drop any shorcut there. Also, if I set that I want to show my default browser and e-mail client, it doesn't work. I can check the checkbox in the settings, but when I hit OK the checkbox is gray again.

Last thing, on my desktop, if I click on any .exe program, I can choose "Add to menu start" (sorry, I have not XP in english, this is my translation) and than that .exe do a shorcut to my menu start. On my nLite system, this option is not shown.

By this research, I decided that I probably deleted some component or service, which is providing this functionality. Can anybody help me fix this, please? This function is essential for me.

Hi there,

I think you have Disabled Dragging and Dropping...

I've done it before and eventually figured it out!

If you try the following it might fix the problem!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Click Start - RC (Right Click) just below "All Programs"

on the start menu and LC (Left Click) properties.

Now, LC "Customize" beside the "Start Menu" option.

LC the "Advanced" tab @ the top.

Tick the box "Enable Dragging and Dropping"

Click OK, Click Apply & Click OK...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Now you should be able to Add, Remove to & Edit your

start menu! :D If you are still having problems with

this let me know and we will see if there's anything else

that we can do to fix the problem! :-)

Hello,

thank you for your post. Sadly its not caused by this feature, I have it in my system and it is ON. But I noticed, since I have about 10 .ini nLite configs in one system, that the nLite is bit confused and it cannot do new images corectly. I will try do this again, (about fifteen-times?) :/
