I made the cd and was able to boot from it without any problem.

But it seems to be loading Xp from my hard drive instead of the cd.

I was expecting it to actually boot and Xp to give me problems due to drivers.

Which I'm just testing and learning the program.

Is this correct for it to boot this way?

I'm a bit confused by your post and exactly what you're trying to do. But if you already have a working copy of XP installed on your HDD and you want to boot from CD, then you must press a key when the screen says "Press any key to boot from CD....", otherwise it will boot XP from the HDD.

I did that and it somehow keeps booting from the cd but loading Xp from the hard drive.

Without the correct drivers on the cd it should have gave me a problem.

I'm just testing the cd to see if I was doing it right.

I just tried it again and it searches for the boot record on the cd then it ask press any key to

boot from cd. But it's still booting from my hard drive.

Maybe this is correct?

But I sure thought it would fully boot from the cd and with the drivers not on the cd it would not boot

correctly.

Sorry everyone, My brain was not working earlier.

I thought it made a bootable OS, Not a bootable installation disk.
