ignaz Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Hi, Does anyone know if installing the security updates:Security Update for CAPICOM (KB931906) and; Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181); from Microsoft Update causes a sudden increase in memory usage. The number of processes running on the machine has also increased. I read that the XML Core Services 4.0 SP2 can't be uninstalled. At the moment I'm using my x64 to run a couple of virtual machines and already near the limit of my memory. Don't want to go out and buy somemore.
GrofLuigi Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I have no direct experience with it, but from what I see from the KB article, CAPICOM is for Biztalk Server (and there is a redistributable for other OSes but I see nowhere any mention of x64 version; all links point to the same download). I myself wouldn't install it if I'm not absolutly sure it's needed. But this is only a guess.GL
