Slipstream XP SP3 --- Upgrade from SP1 or SP2?

Hey!

I have XP Pro OEM SP1 (from when I bought XP)...

Now... Do I slipstream SP2 then SP3 or just do SP3?

After messing about for a bit,

if I do SP2 then SP3 the size is 654MB

if I do SP3 the size is 638MB

its an extra 16MB!!! Do I need that extra? What is it?

Just slipstream SP3 into ur SP1 version, I cant answer your other question but I wish I knew the answer.

each service pack is cumulative, i.e., includes all the fixes from all prior service packs so u just need to slipstream the latest one (sp3) directly into your windows whether its xp gold (sp0), sp1 or sp2

The only caveat is that if you slipstream into an SP0 (RTM, gold, etc) source, you HAVE to enter a product key during install. If you slipstream into an SP1 or SP2 source, you will get the option to not input a product key during setup.
