Hey everyone,

when I'm trying to login to windows live messenger with my normal account it crashes right after logging in - it won't show the contact list but it does disconnect me from the default windows messenger. I can login to other accounts with this windows live messenger installation, all except my own account. I've tried older versions but they all behave the same way, on the error report it says the crash was caused by kernel32.dll.

Does anyone have any idea if it's possible to fix this?

Hmm if there is a problem with the kernel Microsoft would know about it. You might be infected with some sort of Malware that is hooking or patching the kernel and causing this problem. Can you post the relevant Event Log or Crash Dump for analysis? Also understand that you can only have one active connection with an account and cannot sign in simultaneously from other locations or programs.

Try running some of the software on this page to detect if Malware is on your system and if so attempt to remove it
