jcanfer Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 When we get new machines in from Dell now they have a Vista build on them. We then repartition them and install XP before rolling them out to the users. However, our unattended install CD despite having the following in winnt.sif does not prompt for new partition information;[Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes"It works absolutely fine when reinstalling an existing XP box, but not when trying to install XP over Win Server 2008 and Vista. Has anyone got any ideas on how I could remedy this? Thanks
chiners_68 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 i install my PC's from dell using RIS. before we do so we use a disk called Super Fdisk to clear of the vista partitions as XP dosent seem to be able to do it.here is the download its freeware. http://www.shareup.com/Super_Fdisk-download-18631.htmlIt creates a bootable cd. boot from cd sort partitions, reboot put in xp & off you go.
